At Mweruka Junior School, our teachers do more than teach — they mentor, disciple, and serve.
At Mweruka Junior School, over two dozen teachers do far more than teach — they mentor, disciple, encourage, and help shape the hearts and futures of the children in their care. In a community marked by poverty and hardship, a committed teacher can change the entire direction of a child’s life.
Many travel long distances to reach this rural village, living in temporary housing during the school term and returning home only on breaks. Despite earning less than government school salaries, they choose to stay—because they believe in the mission and in the children they serve.
Salary Sponsorship gives you the opportunity to support one of these educators directly. With a monthly pledge of $40, $80, $120, or $160, you can sponsor part—or all—of a teacher’s salary. Your support not only cares for a teacher, but impacts every child sitting in their classroom each day.
Currently, most teachers earn about $125 per month, which is paid consistently year-round—even during school closures. During the COVID pandemic, these teachers continued to serve: teaching children in small village groups, delivering food to 76 families, and maintaining the school campus. When families were struggling most, these teachers remained a steady source of hope and care.
A handful of donors already sponsor teachers, but the majority of salary costs are still covered by the general fund. Without faithful support, retaining qualified, mission-minded teachers in this rural community becomes increasingly difficult. Your support helps us retain exceptional educators, build stability, and continue transforming lives through learning, discipleship, and daily care.
Sponsor a faculty salary today—and invest in the heartbeat of Mweruka Junior School.
